The Problem With Monday Parties
My birthday is on a Monday this year. (My birthday is July 16th)
I was thinking of having a very small (hopefully stress-free) party on the Saturday before my birthday, the 14th. That way anyone who works during the week can make the party (a couple of my friends have rather long commutes) and stay out later.
However, my good friend Laura can’t make it that Saturday because her one other...

Some More Spring Fixing
Apologies to anyone who visited the site in the past eight hours. My host switched my site to a faster server and the site was a bit of a mess for a while there. Good news is everything should look back to normal and be a little faster. Wee!
Life has been a bit hectic for the past couple of days, but I am very much looking forward to the weekend.
I also finished the first book I’ve read...

*Cinema -- For Your Consideration
For Your Consideration (2006)
I think my expectations were way too high. I <3 Christopher Guest movies.
It was a little too movie-ish. It wasn’t styled quite like a documentary.
The cameos by Sandra Oh and John Krasinski were the highlights for me. I really thought Sandra Oh was supposed to have a bigger part in the movie… That being said, the part she was in had one of the...

*Cinema -- Spiderman 3
Spiderman 3 (2007)
Long. Very long.
I’m pretty sure this could have been two movies.
Way too many villains.
If the movie’s tag-line was “The battle within”, they should have focused only on that. That could have easily been a nice hour and a half movie.
I find it very hard to believe that was Kirsten Dunst’s real singing voice. I just don’t believe...

*Cinema -- The Queen
The Queen (2006)
Although I heard great things I wasn’t expecting to love it.
It was actually pretty good.
She is a leader, who during her reign, has seen a tremendous amount of change. Her ability to realize that is what allows her to keep her throne.
I wonder how the royal family felt about the movie? How the Queen felt about Helen Mirren?
Helen Mirren obviously did a wonderful...

*Cinema -- Lucky Number Slevin
Lucky Number Slevin (2006)
I really enjoyed it.
Even though I find Josh Hartnett entirely annoying.
I found the description on the back of the DVD a bit misleading. I think they took the wrong angle.
Lucy Liu looks like she is 18. She looks incredible. She also looks really tiny. I had no idea she was so short.
Even though Ben Kingsley is an exceptional actor, and I’m sure his...

Box Tops. The Adventure.
So yesterday I bought eleven 3-box packs of Kleenex, four 4-roll packs of Scott Toilet Tissue, and three boxes of cereal I don’t normally eat.
Why, you ask?
So I could have 40 Box Tops for Education. Each box top is worth a quarter of a point on my Introduction to Exceptional Children final, and you can earn up to ten points. I feel I should also point out that each box top...
