Shakespeare And Lesbians
How is that title for you?
So my first class was canceled today. I decided to try to be a good student and went to the library to find books for my Shakespeare term paper. The research librarian pointed me to the second floor of the library. I didn’t even know the library had a second floor. There seemed to be no one else up there. Anyway, I found the designated Shakespeare area with surprising ease. It also happened to be right near a few tables. One was filled with a few girls chatting, without a book on their table. I couldn’t figure out why the decided to hang out in the library by the Shakespeare section, but I digress.
I tried my best not to look at them. I stood maybe a foot away from them, staring at the impressive selection of Shakespeare books. I tried my best to ignore them, but it was pretty much impossible because they were just so loud. This was an empty room that was supposed to be quiet. They were discussing the girls who slept with the basketball team, and then moved on to how one of them was a lesbian, and how she wanted to “break” another girl they knew. Needless to say, this conversation was much more interesting than Shakespeare.
Finally I found a couple of books and came home. Shakespeare and lesbians is much better than class. So much better.
